Why did I create this page?

  1. Beyond interviews: A single-page resume or an extensive interview isn’t enough to truly know a person. This page offers a structured introduction to me and my perspective. However, I believe true understanding comes from working or living together.
  2. AI Interaction: Sharing my thoughts, ideas, and past experiences helps AI assistants understand me better.
  3. Inspired by Paul Graham: Paul Graham’s essay inspired me. He recommends a generic launch for the same purposes.
"Get your product out there, see who seems to like it most, and then reach out to those users."
  4. English Practice: I use this page for English speaking practice, aiming to fluently present its content. Since I’m not strong in interviews, this serves as preparation.

My Traits

MBTI INFJ

My MBTI type is INFJ. 🌿🔍 While I get easily nervous and struggle with mental composure in formal situations, I balance this with persistence and a passion for my interests. 😅

Of course, I can experience burnout too, leading me to sometimes want to do nothing but stay at home playing games or watching series. After all, I’m only human!

Passionate

Passion is my greatest trait. Before engaging in any activity, I try to ensure I am fully convinced and then dive in with enthusiasm. The examples below illustrate how passion has guided me on this journey.

Persistence

Passion must be paired with persistence to achieve long-term goals. My persistence enabled me to join my dream company right after graduation and successfully execute my “Five-Year Plan.”

Curious

I’m deeply interested in new customer technology. My explorative spirit is evident in my articles and my upcoming life in North America. I am always eager to learn, grow, and embrace new experiences.

Pragmatic and Humble

I believe in a pragmatic approach, focusing on facts and clear communication. As a jack-of-all-trades, I gain deeper understanding through hands-on experience, ensuring I stay grounded and realistic.

My Use of AI

As of October 2024, I have launched 21 of my own GPTs, with 2 reaching over 25K+ conversations, 2 reaching over 10K+ conversations.

Direct Applications in My Past Work

  • Personal Assistant: Transformed guidance docs/FAQs into GPTs for colleague queries, freeing up my non-work hours.
  • Translation: Used dedicated translation assistant with human proofreading for international projects.
  • Copy Optimization: Optimized convoluted Chinese copy for smoothness.
  • Tech Advisor: Provided basic answers to tech-related questions.
  • Table Transformer: Used SQL to fetch data via descriptions & handled unfamiliar Excel functions.
  • Issues Assistant: Converted voice recordings into formatted listening records for quick issue understanding.
  • Performance Review Assistant: Helped colleagues optimize performance review drafts; #1 on internal GPTs platform.

GPTs I Frequently Use Daily

My Articles about ChatGPT: [Link to Notion Page - Untitled]

AI is still in its early stages, and I am optimistic and confident about its future applications in all aspects of society. I believe my past experiences and understanding can contribute to this transformation.

My Timeline

1994

Born.

2002-2009

Got first computer, encountered Diablo II, Warcraft III, World of Warcraft. Started using internet.

2012

Left Sichuan for university in Hangzhou. Started using Xiaomi smartphone.

2013

Learned PPT skills, discovered Smartisan OS & product manager role.

2014-2015

Deeply involved with Smartisan, created OS intros, met CEO, secured internship in Beijing.

2016

Graduated, joined Smartisan full-time as Product Manager.

2018

Left Smartisan, joined Meituan (B2B products). Visited Taiwan.

2019

Visit to Singapore reinforced determination to learn English. Developed "Five-Year Plan" (prepare for immigration around age 30).

2020-2021

Pandemic started, remote work. Daily English practice. Grandfather passed away, reevaluated "Five-Year Plan". Started IELTS prep.

2022

IELTS 6.5. Explored immigration options (AU, NZ, NL, CA). Got NZ Working Holiday Visa. ChatGPT released. Pandemic restrictions lifted. Front tooth broke.

2023

Received school offers, delayed by dental implant. Went to NZ, confirmed English proficiency. Applied for Canadian study permit. AI exploded, created GPTs.

2024

Got dental implant & Canadian study permit same day. Resigned mid-July, preparing to move to Canada late August.

“That where we come from is who we are, but we choose every day who we become. My family's not perfect, but they made me who I am and gave me chances that they never had. My future, whatever it is, is our shared legacy.” — Hillbilly Elegy

Move to Canada

Why Canada?

  1. Gain new experiences: A year abroad offers different growth than another year at Meituan. Thriving overseas proves adaptability. Need change in work environment.
  2. Optimistic about tech advancements: AI will bring significant societal changes. Better to venture out than follow traditional path.
  3. Current circumstances allow it: Single, lived alone in Beijing 8+ years, no major commitments (car, house, loans). Family supportive. Passed language exams, got offers/permit.

Expectations: Aware of downsides (less convenience, potential quality of life decline). Canadian job market challenges (youth unemployment ~13.5% June). Life isn't interesting if predictable; better to experience. Can always return.

Joking with friends: "going to endure hardship, gain experience." ROI likely negative short/medium term. Money isn't most important; practicing "long-term patience." Hahaha.

My Goals in Canada

  1. Improve my English to handle work and daily life.
  2. Being economically established, as I am in Beijing.
  3. Make something wonderful.
